Jack Webb writes a few lines to promote his new venture Birmingham Judo.

Birmingham Judo is a new venture to promote Judo and encourage participation in this popular sport within the Birmingham and Black Country. The sport is open to people of all abilities and all ages. The venture is led by myself, Jack Webb, I am a senior coach at the Karu Kyoshi Kan (3K’s) Judo Club in Smethwick.

I work in schools and colleges on various judo related schemes. At the moment I am  involved with the West Bromwich Albion Foundation and  Sandwell Council.

I am available to attend schools and colleges in need of judo services, individual tuition is also available. Anyone interested should contact me  at j.webb@3ksjudo.org.uk . My business works in conjunction with the 3Ks Judo club. I can transport mats to venues and can work during the day or some evenings. I can even let the classes use suits to try out judo. I can work with Junior ages, that is from 6 and 16, or adult groups on Judo or self awareness, self defence or similiar, putting together a scheme of coaching to suit the needs of the group. I am part of a thriving Judo Club in West Midlands and I am willing to chat to organisers about what I am able to deliver.

A recent commission involved working with a local rugby union club to develop their training regime to improve general fitness and implementing known judo techniques into their play, while the use of throws, strangles and armlocks are illegal, skills learnt in judo like breaking balance and using an opponents weight and momentum against them is a fundamental aspect of tackling an rugby opponent.

I have international competitive experience and have a Bachelor of Science Sports Coaching Degree. I hold an up to date Level 2 Judo coaching qualification with a valid and clear enhanced CRB check, Child Protection Qualification and valid First Aid.

My past and current achievements include:

3rd Dan Black Belt.
British School Boy Champion.
European Cadet Squad member.
U21 and Senior Squad member.
British University Champion.
Won many medals abroad for Great Britain.
3rd in the Junior World Kurash Championships (similar sport to Judo).
3rd in the Senior European Kurash Championships.
